Jens Reuleckes Installation connecting spaces
In seiner Installation connecting spaces untersucht Jens Reulecke die Schnittstelle zwischen Zwei- und Dreidimensionalität sowie die Übergänge zwischen Bildraum und physischem Raum. Figürliche Projektionen verlassen ihre flächige Verankerung und eröffnen einen imaginativen Handlungsraum, der sich skulptural fortsetzt. Die aus der Wand hervortretenden Körper scheinen in eine latente Interaktion zu treten – ein hybrider, theatral codierter Raum, der die Betrachter:innen nicht nur adressiert, sondern auch in eine körperliche Erfahrung involviert.
Die performative Geste des Öffnens, zentral in Reuleckes Arbeiten OPEN UP I und OPEN UP II, bildet das konzeptuelle Fundament der Installation. Sie fungiert zugleich als Bühne wie als Schwellenraum – ein Ort, an dem sich Körper, Raum und Wahrnehmung in einen dynamischen Austausch begeben.
In einer Gegenwart, die von zunehmender Fragmentierung geprägt ist, setzt Reulecke mit connecting spaces ein bewusst relationales Zeichen. Die Installation versteht sich als prozessoffener Raum der Verbindung – durchlässig, verletzlich und auf Resonanz angelegt, nicht zuletzt im dialogischen Bezug zu den Positionen der weiteren Künstler:innen der Ausstellung.

In his installation connecting spaces, Jens Reulecke explores the threshold between two- and three-dimensionality, examining the transition from pictorial space to physical presence. Figurative projections emerge from the flat surface, extending into an imagined performative field that continues sculpturally. The bodies protruding from the wall appear to enter into subtle interaction—a hybrid, theatrically charged space that not only addresses the viewers but draws them into a corporeal experience.
The performative gesture of opening, central to Reulecke’s works OPEN UP I and OPEN UP II, forms the conceptual core of the installation. It functions simultaneously as a stage and a liminal site—a zone in which body, space, and perception are placed in dynamic interrelation.
In a present marked by increasing fragmentation, Reulecke positions connecting spaces as a consciously relational counterpoint. The installation is conceived as an open-ended space of connection—porous, vulnerable, and receptive to new encounters, particularly in dialogue with the works of the other participating artists.
